Thoughtful Care, Every Step of the Way

How A Gown Moves Through Lady Galloway Gowns.

One dedicated consultant ensures expert, consistent care from the first fitting through final preservation.

  1. Consultation

A first conversation is arranged by appointment, in person or by telephone. The gown, the date, and your expectations are confirmed before any work is scheduled.

  2. Inspection and Intake

Upon arrival, the gown is carefully inspected, with its fabric, construction, layers, beading, and any prior cleaning noted before the Wedding Gown Services Form is signed.

  3. Alteration and Finishing

Alterations are guided by the gown's original construction and thoughtfully timed around the bride's wedding day.

  4. Private Viewing

Before preservation, the bride is invited for a private viewing to see her gown one final time and review every detail before it is carefully preserved.

  5. Preservation and Keepsake

The gown is wrapped in acid-free muslin, set into the archival box, and closed. It is returned to you with a keepsake of the work enclosed.

FAQ

Common Questions.

  • For alterations, we recommend beginning three months before the wedding, with additional time for more intricate work. For preservation, within a few weeks of the wedding is ideal, while stains are still fresh and the fabric is most responsive to treatment.
