Sir Galloway pledges 100,000 recycled hangers

As part of our Green Commitment and our broader Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, we are proud to support the¬†Drycleaning & Laundry Institute’s “DLI Cleaners Care Hanger Recycling Program” initiative to recycle 30 million hangers in 2013, with our own pledge of 100,000 recycled hangers.

Sir Galloway commits 100,000 recycled hangers per yearThis is a global initiative whereby 2013 will see thirty million fewer hangers making their way to landfills. We are fully supportive of this program, as it is completely consistent with our own “green” efforts, which include our membership in the Green Cleaners Council and our commitment to operate a green plant, including our use of biodegradable poly bags, recycled hangers and offering hydro carbon cleaning; all to better take care of our customers, our employees, and the environment.

Beyond our own pledge to this great cause, we are thrilled to see fellow dry cleaners from around the nation and the world stepping up to the plate and working together to not only meet but exceed the program’s ambitious goal (as of today, more than 31,100,000 recycled hangers have been pledged). At Sir Galloway Cleaners we never waiver in our commitment to quality, service and innovation in order to succeed in a competitive environment, but we are also well aware of the power of like-minded businesses to work together to cause positive, measurable impacts in our communities and society at large. Take, for instance, our ongoing clothing donation drive on behalf of Camillus House in Miami, in which we partnered with other dry cleaners in Miami to provide gently used clothing and other household items to the people in need served by this great organization.

We take this opportunity to thank our customers who continuously demonstrate their commitment to a greener planet and to helping those in need in our community. Without your efforts and support, none of these initiatives would be possible.

Happy Earth Day!
